Brake Pressure Modulator Valve
1. Ensure ignition switch is in Off position, then proceed as follows:a. On models less Traction Control System (TCS), measure resistance between ground and ABS control unit connector terminals 1A, 1B, 1C and 1D, Fig. 116.
Fig. 116 ABS Control Unit Connector No. 1 Terminal Identification:
b. On models with TCS, measure resistance between ground and ABS control unit connector terminals 2V, 2W, 2Y and 2Z, Fig. 118.
2. If resistance is not approximately 3 ohms, inspect solenoid valves and wiring harness between ABS control unit and hydraulic unit connector. Repair as necessary.
3. On Millenia models, disconnect ABS hydraulic unit 8-pin connector, Fig. 119, then measure resistance between terminals A and E, B and F, C and G and, finally, D and H.
4. On 1995-96 Protege models, disconnect ABS hydraulic unit 8-pin connector, Fig. 119, then measure resistance between terminals A and H, B and G, C and F and, finally, D and E.
5. If resistance is not approximately 3 ohms, repair ABS hydraulic unit harness or replace unit as necessary.
