Disassemble power steering gear in numbered sequence shown, Fig. 37, noting the following:
1. It may be necessary to secure gear in a suitable vise to remove oil pipe.
2. Prior to removal, mark tie rod end position for installation reference.
3. Use tool No. 49-H032-301, or equivalent, to remove tie rod.
4. Use tool No. 49-H032-320, or equivalent, to remove locknut.
5. Use tool No. 49-H032-321A, or equivalent, to remove adjusting cover. Cover removal will also necessitate drilling away staked areas.
6. Use tool Nos. 49-B032-317 and 49-B032-316, or equivalents, to remove oil seal and bearing.
7. Use tool No. 49-B032-307, or equivalent, to remove outer box assembly.
8. Use tool Nos. 49-F032-308 and 49-F032-303, or equivalents, to remove oil seal and inner guide.
9. Use tool No. 49-B032-332, or equivalent, to remove pinion oil seal.
