Fuel Pressure Release: Service and Repair

Fuel Pressure Release Procedure (See Precautions)

Service Precautions

1. Release the fuel pressure before disconnecting a fuel line.
a. Remove the rear seat cushion.
b. Disconnect the fuel pump connector.
c. Start the engine.
d. After the engine stalls, turn the ignition switch to OFF.
e. Connect the fuel pump connector and install the rear seat cushion.

2. Avoid leakage
a. When disconnecting a fuel line hose, wrap a rag around it to protect against fuel leakage.
b. Plug the hose after removal.




3. Install hose clamps to secure fuel pressure gauge (if installed).
