DESCRIPTION
If the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) illuminates after diagnostic and repair operations, the cause may be reversed vacuum lines at the purge solenoid valve.

The valve and one of the lines contain white dots that may mislead technicians. These dots do not relate to installation positions and should be ignored. On assembly, the vacuum line that contains the white dot should be connected to the bottom nipple on the solenoid.





Refer to the illustration below to correctly attach vacuum lines to the solenoid.

NOTE:
Service Managers should place a copy of this bulletin in the appropriate area of section F in the workshop manual.
