DESCRIPTION

A stain like appearance may be found on some door trim panels. This is not due to dirt or dust but is caused by the manufacturing process. During manufacturing, the material is pressed to the door trim panel. This pressure changes the direction of the material nap, resulting in a stain-like appearance. Refer to Fig. 1.

To prevent this problem, the material nap now flows in a different direction. Customers complaining of this concern should have the door trim panels repaired according to the instructions in this bulletin.

NOTE:
Do not replace the door trim panel to correct this concern.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Cover the power window switch to prevent water from entering.

2. Use a spray bottle or moist cloth and lukewarm water to dampen the stain and surrounding area.

NOTE:
Do not apply too much water.

3. Brush the moistened area with a tooth brush for approximately 2 minutes.

^ Follow the direction indicated in Fig. 3 (from bottom to top).

CAUTION:
^ Do not use a wire or hair brush on the material, damage will result.
^ Use a clean tooth brush.
^ Do not brush the plastic trim, scratches will result.

4. Brush the area lightly following the direction in Fig. 4 (top to bottom).

5. Allow to dry and confirm repair.

^ If the stain like appearance remains, repeat the procedure.
