APPLICABLE MODELS
All 1995-97 Millenia with a VIN of JM1TA22**V1311619 and lower.

DESCRIPTION
When the sun shade is opened, the lower panel cover may hang down. This is caused by insufficient adhesive holding the velcro fastener. To prevent peeling off, the velcro fastener is now installed on the lower panel cover by heating.

Inspect vehicles at PDI and repair customer complaints according to the following instructions.

NOTE:
Gather the following items prior to repair.

Isopropyl Alcohol
Permatex Black Super Weather-strip Adhesive # 82
Brush for applying adhesive

REPAIR PROCEDURE





1. Remove the left and right lower panel covers.

CAUTION:
Pull the panel covers straight down to remove. Pulling any other direction will break cover pins.

2. Remove all velcro fasteners from panels.

CAUTION:
Use care to avoid ripping or damaging velcro fasteners. These fasteners will be reinstalled.

3. Clean surfaces thoroughly with superpolite alcohol.

NOTE:
It is not necessary to remove old adhesive, only loose particles.

4. Apply thin even layer of adhesive to both velcro and panel cover with brush.

5. Allow surface to dry only until surfaces are dry to the touch, but tacky.

6. Position the velcro fastener on the lower panel cover and apply pressure to affix the fastener to the panel cover.
