Subject:
BLOWER MOTOR FAN SPEED INCORRECT BLOWER MOTOR INOPERATIVE
APPLICABLE MODELS
1995-97 Millenia
DESCRIPTION
The blower motor tan speed may be incorrect or the fan is inoperative. This is caused by corrosion on the blower motor shaft created by water entering the air ducts and traveling to the blower motor from the blower motor casing.
To prevent water from entering the blower motor assembly, sealant is applied during production. Customers complaining of this concern should have the vehicle inspected and if necessary, repaired according to this bulletin.
NOTE:
Other electrical components may be damaged (i.e. power transistor) due to excessive current flow into the circuit.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify the concern.
2. Replace the blower motor assembly with a modified part.
3. Inspect the power transistor for proper operation. Refer to section U of the workshop manual.
4. Verify repair.
