ARM REST LID STICKS

APPLICABLE MODELS
1996 Millenia with a VIN of JM1TA22**T1206638 and higher.
1997 Millenia with a VIN of JM1TA22**V1302810 and lower.

DESCRIPTION
The front door arm rest lid may stick during opening. This sticking is caused by adhesive seeping from the taped area shown.

Customers complaining of this concern should have the vehicle inspected and if necessary repaired according to this bulletin.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Open arm rest lid.





2. Remove two (2) screws from rear portion of lid.

3. Remove the lid.
^ Use your finger to disengage clips in position "A" and "B."

4. Remove the tape.
^ Remove the tape slowly to avoid tearing.

5. Apply denatured alcohol or benzine to remove any adhesive residue from the arm rest lid and pull handle.

CAUTION:
Do not apply thinner or like type solutions. These agents will damage the interior surface.

6. Install modified tape in the same position as the original tape.





NOTE:
After installation, there should be a 3 mm margin between the edge of the tape and the arm rest edge. Refer to Fig. 2
