Removal
1. Remove cotter pin and nut, Fig. 11.Fig. 11 Lower, Upper And Rear Lower Lateral Link Replacement:
2. Remove lower lateral link ball joint using ball joint puller set tool No. 49 T028 3A0, or equivalent, Fig. 5.
3. Remove lower lateral link and inspect for bending and damage. Inspect bushing for wear and deterioration.
4. Carefully remove lower lateral link dust boot using suitable chisel.
5. Cut away projecting rubber portion of lower lateral link bushing, then remove bushing using rubber bushing replacer set tool No. 49 T028 2A0, or equivalent, Fig. 12.

6. Cut away projecting rubber portion of damper bushing, then remove bushing using rubber bushing replacer set tool No. 49 T028 2A0, or equivalent.
7. Remove cotter pin and nut, then upper lateral link ball joint using ball joint puller set tool No. 49 T028 304, or equivalent. Sharp edges of ball joint puller set tool can slice dust boot. Install tool so sharp edges are between dust boot and knuckle.
8. Mark cam plate and crossmember for installation reference, then remove cam plate nut, cam plate and adjusting cam bolt.
9. Remove upper lateral link and inspect for bending and damage. Inspect bushing for wear and deterioration.
10. Carefully remove upper lateral link dust boot using suitable chisel.
11. Remove cotter pin and nut, then rear lower lateral link outer ball joint using ball joint puller set tool No. 49 T028 304, or equivalent. Sharp edges of ball joint puller set tool can slice dust boot. Install tool so sharp edges are between dust boot and knuckle.
12. Remove locknut, then the rear lower lateral link inner ball joint. inspect for bending and damage.
13. Carefully remove rear lower lateral link dust boot using suitable chisel.
14. Remove rear lower lateral link.
