Steering Wheel: Service and Repair

1. Remove air bag module as described under Air Bag System.
2. Remove steering wheel locknut.
3. Remove steering wheel using suitable puller. Do not try to remove steering wheel by hitting shaft with hammer. Column will collapse.
4. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Ensure wheels are in straight ahead position.
b. Torque steering wheel locknut to 29 - 36 ft.lb.
