1. Remove snap ring and dust seal from piston bore, Fig. 13. Inspect dust seal for evidence of damage or leakage.2. Gently drive piston from bore by applying compressed air to hydraulic line port. Position a suitable block of wood in caliper to prevent piston from popping out of bore and causing damage.
3. Remove piston seals from caliper bore grooves using tool No. 49-0208-701A, or equivalent, then remove bleeder screw from caliper body. Ensure caliper body is not damaged, excessively worn or rusted.
4. Reverse procedure to assemble, noting the following:
a. Apply clean brake fluid to caliper piston before installation.
b. Tighten bleeder screw to specifications shown in Fig. 13.
