Throttle Body: Service and Repair

REMOVAL





- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the air pipe.
- Remove the accelerator cable from the throttle lever.





- Drain the engine coolant.
- Disconnect the water hoses.
- Disconnect the connectors from the idle air control valve and the throttle position sensor.
- Remove the throttle body.

INSPECTION
Do not remove the thin seat coating from the throttle valve or bore.





- Verify that the throttle valve is at the closed throttle position.
- Verify that the throttle valve moves smoothly when the throttle lever is moved from the closed throttle position to the wide open throttle.
- Replace the throttle body if necessary.

INSTALLATION
Install in the reverse order of removal, using a new mounting gasket.





Tightening torque: 19 - 25 Nm (14 - 18 ft.lbs.)
