EGR Electronic Vacuum Regulator Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

INSPECTION




EGR Solenoid Valve (vacuum)
- Remove the solenoid valve.
- Apply battery positive voltage to terminal A and ground terminal B of the solenoid valve. Verify that air flows as shown below.




- If not as specified, replace the EGR solenoid valve (vacuum).

EGR Solenoid Valve (vent)
- Remove the solenoid valve.
- Verify that air flows as shown below.




- If not as specified replace the EGR solenoid valve (vent).




- Apply battery positive voltage to terminal A and ground terminal B of the solenoid valve. Verify that air flows as shown below.




- If not as specified, replace the EGR solenoid valve (vent).
