Brake Proportioning/Combination Valve: Testing and Inspection

Fig. 9 Proportioning Valve Inspection:

1. Connect pressure testing equipment as shown, Fig. 9, then bleed air from brake system.

Adapter and flare nut tightening torque: 12.8 - 21.5 N.m (130 - 220 kgf.cm, 113 - 191 in.lbf)

2. Depress pedal until master cylinder pressure measures A, then record rear brake pressure (A').
3. Depress pedal with additional force until master cylinder pressure measures A, then record rear brake pressure again (B').
4. If pressures are not as specified in Fig. 9, replace proportioning valve.
