Front Steering Knuckle: Service and Repair

1. Raise and support front of vehicle, then remove wheels.
2. Remove hub and knuckle in numbered sequence, Fig. 1.
3. Disassemble hub and knuckle in numbered sequence, Fig. 2, noting the following:
a. Remove wheel hub from knuckle using tools shown in Fig. 3.
b. Remove wheel bearing from knuckle using tools shown in Fig. 4.
4. Assemble front axle reversing numbered sequence, Fig. 2, noting the following:
a. Press in new wheel bearing using tools shown in Fig. 5.
b. Press wheel hub into knuckle using hub installer tool No. 49F027009, or equivalent.
c. Install oil seal flush with knuckle.
5. Install hub and knuckle reversing numbered sequence, Fig. 1, noting the following:
a. Stake new lock.
b. Tighten all bolts and nuts to specifications shown in Fig. 1.
