Fuel Rail: Description and Operation

Fuel Rail (Delivery Pipe) W/Injectors Attached For Testing:

PURPOSE
The fuel rail is a reservoir which supplies fuel to the injectors at equal pressure.

OPERATION
Rail volume is larger than that of a fuel hose or tube so that when one injector opens, it doesn't cause a pressure drop in the fuel supplied to other injectors.
