Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

WARNING:
^ Release fuel pressure.
^ Keep sparks, cigarettes, and open flames away.

REMOVAL

Injector Removal:

1. Relieve fuel system pressure. Disconnect fuel lines from delivery pipe assembly.
2. Remove injector harness from delivery pipe.
3. Remove intake manifold bolts.
4. Remove delivery pipe, injectors, and pressure regulator as a unit.
5. Remove injectors, grommets, and insulators.

INSTALLATION

Injector Installation:

1. Install in reverse order.
2. Use new O-rings and insulators. Apply small amount of engine oil to O-rings before installing.
3. Tighten delivery pipe bolts to specification:

TORQUE: 14 - 19 ftlb (19 - 15 Nm)

4. Prime fuel system and check for leaks.
