Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

Injector R&R:

WARNING:
^ Release fuel pressure.
^ Keep sparks, cigarettes, and open flames away.

1. Remove components in order shown.
2. Install in reverse order of removal. Refer to INSTALLATION NOTES.

COMPONENTS

1. Negative battery cable.
2. Injector connector.
3. Pressure regulator.
4. Fuel hoses.
5. Distribution pipe.
6. Injector.
7. Insulator.

INSTALLATION NOTES

Delivery Pipe Torque:

1. Torque delivery pipe bolts as specified:

"A" BOLTS: 14 - 18 ftlb (19 - 25 Nm)
"B" BOLTS: 70 - 95.4 inlb (7.8 - 10.7 Nm)

Injector O-Rings:

2. Use new O-rings. To aid installation, apply small amount of clean engine oil to O-rings.
3. Use new injector insulators.
