Prior to replacing the power antenna unit, inspect the relay according to the attached procedure. If the power antenna is identified as the source of the concern, replace only the relay.

PARTS INFORMATION

CAUTION:
Depending on the build date of the vehicle, parts interchangeability will vary. If the wrong replacement part is installed, the following symptoms and/or malfunctions may occur. Refer to the table below for applicable parts.

^ Replacement parts for the 1996 - 97 Miata can be used to correct concerns with the 1990 - 95 Miata; however, the antenna may momentarily go down during engine cranking. This symptom usually occurs in the 1996 - 97 Miata.

^ If replacement parts for the 1990 - 95 Miata are used in the 1996 - 97 Miata, the power antenna will not operate.

^ If replacement antenna relay parts are not available at the time of repair, older assemblies (0000-81-9300) can utilize the newer relay (N007-66-A3Y).

NOTE:
The parts information in this bulletin supersedes Accessory Bulletin XS-1 parts information.
