Pump Operation

WARNING: Before disconnecting any fuel line, release fuel pressure with the following procedure. When replacing fuel system components, keep sparks, cigarettes and open flames away from fuel. Plug hoses while they are disconnected.

Fuel System Priming:

1. Connect a jumper wire across data link connector terminals F/P and GND.
2. Remove fuel filler cap and turn ignition switch ON.
3. Listen at fuel filler pipe for operational sound indicating the pump is running.

Fuel Pump Operation Check:

4. If no sound was heard, measure voltage at fuel pump connector. It should read approximately 12V.
5. If not correct, check fuel pump relay, connectors, and wiring between relay and pump.
6. If voltage is normal, check for continuity between fuel pump connector (B) and a ground.
7. If there is continuity, replace fuel pump.
8. If no continuity, repair ground circuit.
