Evaporative Check Valve: Testing and Inspection

TWO-WAY CHECK VALVE

Two-Way Check Valve:






1. Remove valve.
2. Check operation with vacuum pump.
3. Apply approximately 0.6 inHg (15 mmHg, 2.0 kPa) vacuum to port A. Check that air flows through valve.
4. Apply approximately 1.7 inHg (44 mmHg, 5.9 kPa) vacuum to port B. Check that air flows through valve.
5. If not as specified, replace valve.

THREE-WAY CHECK VALVE

Three-Way Check Valve:






1. Remove valve and plug port C.
2. Check operation with vacuum pump.
3. Apply approximately 1.46 inHg (37 mmHg) vacuum to port A. Check that air flows through valve.
4. Apply approximately 2.76 inHg (70 mmHg) vacuum to port B. Check that air flows through valve.
5. If not as specified, replace valve.


FUEL VAPOR VALVE

1. Remove the valve.
2. Blow through the valve and verify that air flows in the direction shown.

3. Turn the valve over and blow through the valve. Verify that no air flows through the valve.
4. Replace the valve if necessary.
