Valve Body: Service and Repair
ON-VEHICLE REMOVAL1. Clean transaxle exterior thoroughly.
2. Support engine using an engine support: special service tool (SST)-49 G017 5A0 or equivalent.
3. Raise the vehicle and support it with suitable safety stands.
4. Drain the automatic transaxle fluid (ATF).
5. Remove the lower engine crossmember to gain access to the transaxle oil pan.
6. Remove the oil pan.
7. Disconnect the connectors on the control valve body.
8. Carefully remove the control valve body, while noting mounting bolt locations.
ON-VEHICLE INSTALLATION
View: Control Valve Body Bolt Locations:
1. Install control valve body with mounting bolts in their original locations and tighten bolts to specification.
Torque: 7.9 - 10.7 Nm (70 - 95.4 in.lb.)
2. Re-connect connectors.
3. Install transaxle oil pan with a new gasket and tighten bolts.
Torque: 8.4 - 10.7 Nm (74 - 95.4 in.lb.)
4. Install engine support crossmember and torque fasteners to specifications.
Torque:
- Nuts: 38 - 51 Nm (28 - 38 ft.lb.)
- Bolts: 64 - 93 Nm (48 - 68 ft.lb.)
5. Remove the SST-engine support.
8. Refill the transaxle.
9. Road test the vehicle for proper shifting and verify NO leaks exist.
