Fuel Tank: Service and Repair
WARNING: Release fuel pressure. Fuel line spills and leaks are dangerous. Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries or death and damage. Fuel can also irritate skin and eyes. To prevent this, always complete the "Fuel Line Safety Procedures".
Technician Safety Information
Reparing a fuel tank that has not been properly steam cleaned can be dangerous. Explosion or fire may cause serious injury or death. Always properly steam clean fuel tanks before making repairs.
Fuel Tank R&R:
1. Remove components in order shown.
2. Inspect components and repair or replace as needed.
3. Install in reverse order.
Fuel Hose Installation:
INSTALLATION NOTE
1. Push ends of main fuel hose, fuel return hose and evaporative hoses onto fuel tank fittings at least 25 mm (1.0 in.)
2. Push fuel filler hose onto fuel tank pipe and filler pipe at least 35 mm (1.4 in.)
