Fuel Pressure Control Solenoid: Description and Operation

Pressure Regulator Control System:

PURPOSE
Temporarily raise fuel pressure to prevent vapor lock (fuel percolation) and improve idle quality after hot restart.

OPERATION
When powertrain control module engine (PCME) detects hot start conditions (see image), it cuts vacuum to fuel pressure regulator through control of the pressure regulator control (PRC) solenoid, increasing fuel pressure.
