Fuel Leak Test
WARNING: Release fuel pressure. Fuel line spills and leaks are dangerous. Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries or death and damage. Fuel can also irritate skin and eyes. To prevent this, always complete the "Fuel Line Safety Procedures".
Technician Safety Information
1. Remove fuel distributor assembly from intake manifold.
View: Hose Connections For Leak Test:
2. Connect fuel hoses as shown.
View: How To Run Fuel Pump With Jumper Wire:
3. Connect data link connector terminals F/P and GND with jumper wire.
4. Turn ignition ON and check injectors for leakage. It should be less than 1 drop in 2 minutes.
Look For Leaks Between Injector O-rings And Fuel Distributor:
5. If not as specified, remove leaking injector(s) and check O-rings and fuel distributor contact face for damage. Replace as needed.
6. Install removed injector.
7. Turn ignition ON and check for leaks again.
8. If still leaking, replace injector.
