Crankshaft Position Sensor 2

PURPOSE
Crankshaft Position Sensor 2 NE Signal
Detects crank angle at 60° intervals and sends the NE signal to the powertrain control module engine (PCME).

OPERATION
Crankshaft Position Sensor 2 NE Signal
The sensor NE Signal affects the operation of the following PCME output systems and/or devices:
- Fuel injection quantity
- Fuel injection timing
- Fuel pump relay
- BAC valve (Idle air control valve-idle speed)
- Purge solenoid valve (purge control)
- Variable resonance induction system control solenoids No.s 1&2
- EGR control solenoid valves (EGR operation)
- Igniter (ignition timing control)
- Pressure regulator control solenoid valves (fuel pressure)
- Self-diagnosis checker (diagnostic trouble codes)

REMARKS
The crankshaft mounted crankshaft position sensor 2 is a completely separate component from the distributor mounted crankshaft position sensor 1.
