Pressure Hold Inspection
Fuel Pump Pressure Hold Inspection:
WARNING: Fuel line spills and leaks are dangerous. Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries or death and damage. Fuel can also irritate skin and eyes. To prevent this, always complete the "Fuel Line Safety Procedures".
Technician Safety Information
NOTE: Obtain audio anti-theft access code before disconnecting battery cables.
1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Connect pressure gauge between fuel filter and main hose.
3. Connect negative battery cable.
4. Install jumper wire between data link connector terminals F/P and GND.
5. Turn ignition switch ON for approximately 10 seconds to operate fuel pump.
6. Turn ignition OFF. Wait 5 minutes and observe fuel pressure. It should be more than 150 kPa (21 psi)
7. If not as specified, replace fuel pump.
