Oil Pan: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then raise and support vehicle and drain engine oil.
2. Remove front exhaust pipe.
3. On models with manual transaxle, remove gusset plates and clutch housing under cover.
4. On all models, remove right side sub frame.
5. Remove oil pan attaching bolts and oil pan, then the oil strainer and baffle plate.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Apply suitable sealant to baffle plate-to-cylinder block and oil pan-to-baffle plate contact areas in continuous bead, rimming inside of bolt holes.
b. Tighten oil strainer attaching bolts and oil pan attaching bolts to specification.
c. Baffle plate and oil pan must be secured within 30 minutes after sealant is applied.
