Before removing steering gear disconnect pinion shaft from the intermediate shaft with wheels in straight ahead position. Do not turn steering wheel while steering gear is removed. If not done correctly, adjust clock spring connector.
1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheels.
2. Remove components in numerical sequence shown, Fig. 11.
3. Reverse procedure to install.
