Installation

Oil Pan Assembly Exploded View:

1. Remove all foreign material from the contact surfaces for the oil pan baffle.





2. Apply a continuous bead of silicone sealant to the baffle along the inside of the bolt holes as shown.

Caution: The oil pan must be secured within 5 minutes after the sealant is applied to the baffle or leakage may occur.

3. Install the baffle to the engine block.
4. Using a new gasket, install the oil strainer.
5. Remove all foreign material from the contact surfaces for the oil pan.





6. Apply silicone sealant to the shaded areas as shown above.





7. Install new gaskets onto the oil pump body and the rear cover with the projections in the notches as shown above.





8. Apply a continuous bead of silicone sealant to the oil pan along the inside of the bolt holes and overlap the ends as shown.





9. Install the oil pan and torque mount bolts as follows:

A) 7.9 - 10.7 Nm (70 - 95 in.lbs)
B) 64 - 89 Nm (48 - 65 ft.lbs)

10. Install the crossmember and engine mount nuts.
11. Install the intermediate shaft.
12. Install the oil dipstick and pipe.
13. Install engine under cover.
14. Fill crankcase with proper amount and grade of oil.
15. Connect the negative battery cable.
16. Start engine and check for leaks.
17. Stop engine and check oil level, add as necessary.
