Fuel Pump: Service and Repair

1. Relieve fuel system pressure.

Fuel Pump Electrical Connector And Harness (Under Rear Seat):

^ Remove rear seat cushion and disconnect fuel pump electrical connector.
^ Start engine and let it run until it dies
^ Slowly and carefully remove fuel hose from fuel filter.

Fuel Pump Assembly And Installation:

2. Remove access cover.
3. Disconnect fuel hoses and electrical connector from tank unit.
4. Remove fuel pump/gauge unit from tank.
5. Install in reverse order.


INSTALLATION NOTES:
When installing new pump into holding fixture, be sure pump is seated in bottom rubber mount and hose is securely clamped at both ends.

CAUTION: Be careful when installing fuel hose onto fuel pump nipple. Excessive side force on nipple will break it off of the pump.
