Water Pump: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Drain engine coolant. Refer to above illustration for removal/installation.
3. Remove timing belt assembly (1), refer to Engine/Timing Components.
4. Remove the No.3 engine mount bracket (2).
5. Remove water pump (3). Water pump is not rebuildable, if a problem is found replace pump as a unit.
6. Reverse above procedure to install making sure the water pump rubber seal (4) is free of engine oil.
