Fuel Rail: Description and Operation

Fuel Rail (Delivery Pipe) And Injectors:

PURPOSE
A reservoir supplying fuel to, and maintaining equal pressure at, injectors.

LOCATION
On intake manifold.

OPERATION
Fuel rail volume is greater than hose or pipe supplying fuel. When one injector opens, there is no pressure drop so that fuel pressure is equal at all injectors.
