The EGR Solenoid Valves, located on the right side of the firewall, are ECU controlled components of the EGR system.
By regulating operation of the vent and vacuum valves, the ECU controls vacuum to the EGR control valve, ensuring reduced emissions while maintaining good driveability over a wide range of conditions.
To calculate its control of the EGR solenoid valves, the ECU calculates inputs from:
^ Distributor Ne signal
^ Airflow meter
^ Throttle sensor
^ Idle switch
^ Water thermosensor
^ Electrical load signal
