Disassembly/Assembly

1. Remove oil pump bracket, then the oil strainer and O-ring.
2. Remove oil pressure control valve assemblies.
3. Remove oil pump cover, then the oil pump gear assembly.
4. Check for distorted or damaged oil pump body or cover, worn or damage plunger or weak or broken plunger spring. Replace parts as necessary.
5. Measure oil pump side clearance. Clearance should be 0.0016-0.0035 inch (0.04-0.09mm) and must not exceed 0.006 inch (0.15mm).
6. Measure clearance between gears and pump body. Clearance should be 0.0028-0.0043 inch and must not exceed 0.006 inch (0.15mm).
7. Assemble in reverse order of disassembly, noting the following:
a. Use new O-ring on oil strainer and torque to specification.
b. Apply suitable locking compound to oil pump cover screw threads and torque screws to specification.
