Throttle Body: Service and Repair
Component Parts
Check for air leaks by listening for sucking noises. Visually check the components for damage and replace, if necessary.
1. Fresh air duct
2. Air cleaner
3. Air tunnel
4. Intercooler
5. Intake air pipe
6. Accelerator cable Adjustment. Refer to throttle cable adjustment. Throttle Cable/Linkage
7. Throttle body Removal and Installation below.
8 Dynamic chamber
9. Water thermovalve
10. Check valve
Throttle Body Removal
1. Drain the engine coolant to below the level of the intake manifold dynamic chamber.
2. Remove in the order shown in the figure below.
a. Intercooler.
b. oil filler pipe.
c. Accelerator cable
d. Cruise control cable If equipped)
e. Connectors
f. AWS solenoid valve
g. water hoses
h. Nuts and bolts
i. Air intake pipe, throttle body and dynamic chamber
Caution: Cover intake manifold openings with a clean cloth to prevent dust or dirt from entering after the throttle body and dynamic chamber are removed. into the engine while servicing.
Installation
Install in reverse order.
NOTE: Do not use carburetor cleaner on the throttle body. Carburetor cleaner will remove the protective coating on the throttle body and throttle valves. If the throttle body requires cleaning, use cleaning solution of detergent and water or a mild solvent.
