Throttle Body: Service and Repair
Removal1. Drain the engine coolant to below the level of the intake manifold dynamic chamber.
2. Remove in the order shown in the figure.
a. Airfunnel.
b. Acceleration cable
c. Cruise control cable (If equipped).
d. Water hoses
e. Vacuum tubes
f. Air hoses
g. Throttle body, water thermo valve and dynamic chamber
3. Cover intake openings to prevent dirt from getting into the engine while servicing.
Caution: Cover the intake manifold opening with a clean cloth to prevent dust or dirt from entering after the throttle body and dynamic chamber are removed.
Installation
Install in reverse order. Tighten all nuts and bolts to the specified torque.
NOTE: Do not use carburetor cleaner on the throttle body. Carburetor cleaner will remove the protective coating on the throttle body and throttle valves. If the throttle body requires cleaning, use cleaning solution of detergent and water or a mild solvent.
