Fuel Pressure Control Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

Pressure Regulator Solenoid Testing:

1. Disconnect vacuum hose from solenoid valve and vacuum pipe.
2. Blow through valve from port "A" and check that air flows from port "B."
3. Disconnect valve electrical connector.
4. Connect 12V power source and ground to solenoid terminals.
5. Blow through valve from port "A" and check that air flows from valve air filter.
6. Replace valve if it does not perform as specified.

Pressure regulator solenoid output voltage can be checked at ECU terminal 3M. With engine at operating temperature, terminal voltage should be below 2.0V while cranking and for approximately 50 seconds after engine is started and idling. After 50 seconds, voltage should be approximately 12V at idle.
