Oil Pump: Service and Repair

Fig. 23 Installing Oil Pump:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then raise and support vehicle and drain engine oil.
2. Remove timing belt, refer to TIMING BELT.
3. Remove oil pan, refer to OIL PAN.
4. Using tools 49H001101A and 49S120170, or equivalents, remove timing belt pulley lock bolt and the timing belt pulley.
5. Remove oil pump attaching bolts and oil pump.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Apply grease to new O-ring and install it in oil pump body, Fig. 23.
b. Apply suitable sealant to oil pump contact surface, Fig. 23.
c. Apply engine oil to oil seal lip.
