Canister Purge Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

1. Disconnect solenoid valve vacuum hoses.
2. Check that air cannot flow through valve.
3. Disconnect valve electrical harness. Connect 12V and a ground to solenoid terminals.
4. Check that air can now flow through valve.
5. If not as described, replace valve.

Purge control solenoid valve output voltage can be checked at ECU terminal 1H. When ignition is "ON" and at idle, terminal voltage should be approximately 12V.
