Removal and Installation

1. Deactivate Airbag system, if equipped, refer to Air Bags and Seat Belts/Air Bags (Supplemental Restraint Systems)/Service and Repair.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable, then raise and support vehicle.
3. Loosen idler puller locknut and remove drive belt.
4. Remove pump retaining bolts.
5. Using tool 49W023585 or equivalent, remove pump pulley attaching nut, then remove pulley.
6. Disconnect return hose and plug openings.
7. Remove pressure pipe bracket bolt and disconnect pipe, plugging openings.
8. Remove pump.
9. Reverse procedure to install, torquing pump retaining bolts to specification.
