Water Pump: Service and Repair

Fig. 24 Water Pump Removal:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Turn crankshaft so that No. 1 cylinder is at TDC of compression.
3. Drain engine coolant.
4. Remove timing belt.
5. Remove idler pulley, water pump and O-ring, Fig. 24.
6. Reverse procedure to install, using new O-ring. tighten water pump attaching bolts to specification.
