2. Check vacuum signal as follows:
a. Run engine until normal operating temperature is reached and continue to run at idle.
b. Connect tachometer to engine and checking lamp (tool No. 49 F018 001) or equivalent to green check connector Fig. 10.

NOTE: The testing light as shown in Fig. 14 can be used in place of the checking lamb. In this case, the testing light turns on when current flows. A test light may also be used.

c. Disconnect switching solenoid valve vacuum hose from air control valve and block port opening with a finger Fig. 7.

d. Note valve operation and checker lamp. With engine running at idle or decelerating, air should be drawn into valve and red indicator should not illuminate Fig. 9.
