Fig. 17 Checking continuity between water thermo sensor & control unit.:

1. Check connections of water thermo sensor electrical connectors, repairing or replacing as necessary.
2. If connections are satisfactory, check resistance of water thermo sensor. Refer to ``Component Testing.''
3. If resistance is not within specifications, replace water thermo sensor.
4. If resistance is within specifications, check for continuity between water thermo sensor and control unit, Fig. 17.
5. If continuity is not as shown, check for open circuit in wiring harness.
6. If continuity is as shown, there is short circuit in wiring harness or EGI control unit is defective.
