DESCRIPTION

The following modifications have been made in the front brake system of the vehicle with 5 hole (15 or 16 in.) disc wheel (Turbo, Convertible, GXL & GTU) since the production of November 1, 1987. *

1. The diameter of the front brake pad pin has been changed from 6.35 mm (0.25 in) to 6.05 mm (0.24 in).

2. The pad liner has been discontinued. To compensate for the discontinued pad liner, the length of the backing plate has been increased from 106.20 mm (4.14 in) to 107.05 mm (4.17 in).

NOTE:
When installing the new pad, make sure not to use the pad liner.

3. An additional front brake pad spring for Trailing (upper side) has been installed. The configuration of the originally installed front brake pad spring for Leading (lower side) has been changed.

NOTE:
When installing the brake pad springs, make sure of the following.



^ The ends of both springs are attached in the upper retaining holes (both sides).

^ The shorter springs are installed on the top and the longer spring is installed on the bottom with the hooked ends of the springs overlapping as shown.



REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE

Replace the pads and related parts in accordance with the instruction enclosed in the box of the front pad sub set (FB34 49 280D).
