Fig. 18 Checking continuity between throttle sensor & control unit:





1. Check connections of throttle sensor electrical connectors, repairing or replacing as necessary.
2. If connections are satisfactory, check adjustment of throttle sensor, adjusting as necessary. Refer to ``Component Testing.''
3. If throttle sensor is properly adjusted, check resistance of throttle sensor.
4. If resistance is not within specifications, replace throttle sensor.
5. If resistance is within specifications, check voltage at BrW terminal of throttle sensor connector.
6. If voltage is not 4.5-5.5 volts, there is open or short circuit in wiring harness or EGI control unit is defective.
7. If voltage is 4.5-5.5 volts, check continuity between throttle sensor and control unit, Fig. 18.
8. If continuity is not as shown, check for open or short circuit in wiring harness.
9. If continuity is as shown, EGI control unit is defective.
