DTC 04

1. Check connections of intake air temperature sensor (air flow meter) electrical connectors, repairing or replacing as necessary.
2. If connections are satisfactory, check resistance of intake air temperature sensor. Refer to ``Component Testing.''
3. If resistance is not within specifications, replace intake air temperature sensor on 1986 models or 1987-88 non-turbocharged models, or the air flow meter on 1987-88 turbocharged models.
4. If resistance is within specifications, check for continuity between air flow meter terminal ``THAA'' and EGI control unit terminal ``2J.''
5. If there is no continuity, check for open circuit in wiring harness.
6. If there is continuity, there is short circuit in wiring harness or EGI control unit is defective.
