Fig. 16 Checking continuity between air flow meter & control unit.:

1. Check connections at air flow meter electrical connectors, repairing or replacing as necessary.
2. If connections are satisfactory, check resistance of air flow meter. Refer to ``Component Testing.''
3. If resistance of air flow meter is not within specifications, replace air flow meter.
4. If resistance of air flow meter is within specifications, check voltage at BrW terminal of air flow meter connector.
5. If voltage is not 4.5-5.5 volts, there is open or short circuit in wiring harness or EGI control unit is defective.
6. If voltage is 4.5-5.5 volts, check continuity between air flow meter and control unit, Fig. 16.
7. If continuity is not as shown, check for open or short circuit in wiring harness from air flow meter to control unit.
8. If continuity is as shown, EGI control unit is defective.
