Canister Purge Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

Fig. 39 Testing three-way solenoid valve.:

1. Remove three-way solenoid valve.
2. Connect vacuum hose to valve, Fig. 39.
3. Blow air through hose A and ensure air flows from air filter.
4. Apply battery power to and ground valve with jumper wires.
5. Blow air through hose A and ensure air flows from port B.
6. If valve does not function as described, replace it.
