Temperature Gauge: Testing and Inspection

1. Remove the connector from the gauge unit.

2. Connect the red lead wire of the checker (49 0839 285) to the connector, and the black lead wire to body ground.

3. Set the checker to the resistance values shown in the figure.
4. Turn on the ignition switch and to confirm that the indicator displays the correct values. If the indicator displays the correct values, the trouble is in the gauge unit; if not, the trouble is in the meter.

NOTE:
a. Continue the above tests for at least two minutes each to correctly judge the condition.
b. The allowable indication error is twice the width of the needle (Analog meter).
